DONATION REQUESTS Published Policy Nov 2017

We receive a lot of requests for donations of rooms from different groups. We will continue to serve our community needs in many ways but have been challenged to make free donations work. We have experience telling someone we would donate a free room and then they would not communicate when the people were expecting to arrive and would arrive unannounced. Also, if they decided not to come, no communication would be exchanged about the cancellation. This creates confusion in our already challenged booking schedule. The other item is taxes. Free rooms cannot be counted as a donation for taxes. All the aforementioned items makes us change our policy so that money is on the line for the booking. This makes it more likely that we will be informed about arrival and cancellation for this business. Here are the guidelines for submitting a donation request:

1) We only donate to companies that have tax free status and are non-profiorganizations, include your IRS 501 (C) (3) status number..

2) If we do agree to provide a room, we require that you put in your request for a donation. If we agree to the room donation you will then be required to purchase the room as a normal customer and we will donate the amount for the room to your organization for a donation receipt in the amount of the donation.
